How did your career begin?
Palak’s career started out as a hobby, designing for a few friends and families to small weddings and eventually after 11 long years of experience and learning, RUAR was born.
A Brief introduction about your brand/label?
The label ‘Ruar India‘ is a conscious label based out of Jaipur (store located in City Palace) with a strong design philosophy and innate sense of comfort described as intricate, the aesthetic is inspired by the designers interest in art, architecture, culture, craftsmanship, landscapes, vintage art and travels. The label is all about revival of Indian craftsmanship which incorporates traditions and values; however it has a modernist approach to the age-old embroideries. All the products such as sarees, suits, shawls, jackets, coordinate sets and more are intricately designed based on the revival of vintage and traditional embroideries and art. The designer’s expertise lies in making capsule collections which are all organic and handmade, the collections are theme based and have beautiful stories to tell.

The designer shares, “One of my favorite collections is Waves Of Desert which is in-line with the best of traditional tie and dye techniques which further have been paired with the most classic embroideries from Rajasthan. Its a limited edition collection which enhances the colorful attributes of Rajasthan on different silhouettes making every piece one of a kind”.
